Questions about MOUMA'S

We want to bring delicious, easy-to-make Indian food from our kitchen to yours! 

The idea came from simplifying and providing all the spices needed at the right amounts to cook an amazing, healthy meal at home in less than 30 minutes! 

It can be difficult to think of new creative ways to keep your meals fresh, we saw the love for Indian food, and want to help people enjoy the dishes that we so love!

Mouma was the name I called my grandmother in India! She was a loving and amazing woman that encouraged me to be the best person I could.

She was also one of the best chef’s in Kolkata, India!

All of our lentils come with a recipe on the package, but in general here’s what you do

  • Saute a diced onion /tomato with the included spice packet
  • Add lentils and water, bring to a boil
  • Simmer for 20-35 minutes, depending on which lentil and preferred thickness
  • Masoor Daal – our most popular daal, is rich in flavor, and has a soft familiar taste full of turmeric and cumin that keeps people coming back for seconds!
  • Moong Daal – The flavors are more familiar and aromatic, this spice packet comes with a cinnamon stick, and bay leaf.
  •  Sambar Daal – This does have a tiny bit of red chili powder, which leaves a slight heat at the end of the bite, the red chili adds a delicious smokey flavor. The curry leaves bring a familiar flavor for those that love Indian food!
